Kohno implants are cylindrical in the upper portion, to offer
nigher stability in cortical bone, and are tapered in the bottom
part of their body. The conical geometry more closely resembles
the anatomy of a natural root than a cylindrical implant. It is highly
recommended for immediate post-extraction sites, minimising
treatment time to the patients’ satisfaction. |

The thread is similar to that of Premium® implants, has pitch
of 1 mm, has a concave shape in one direction and a convex
one in another. This profile avoids traumatizing the bone after
application of load, thus creating the conditions for a complete
bone integration.
The apical incisions allow a self-tapping insertion of the implant,
offer three decompression areas for the clot, improve
the primary stability, increasing at the same time the non-rotation
of the implant during the screwing and the unscrewing
operations of the second surgical phase.
However a preventive tapping of the bone is always required
when the bone is highly compact. |
